VMware Workstation v5.5正式版+绿色版（虚拟机软件）

VMware公司正式发布了旗下著名虚拟机软件VMware Workstation的5.5正式版。新版VMware Workstation加入了对64位处理器和操作系统的更好支持，同时对双路虚拟对称处理(SMP)提供试验性支持，还增强了虚拟机导入和命令行界面。
  
VMware Workstation是一个虚拟PC软件，可以在一台机器上同时运行两个或多个Windows、DOS、Linux操作系统。与多重启动系统相比，VMware Workstation采用了完全不同的概念。前者在一个时刻只能运行一个系统，在系统切换时需要重启机器。
  
早在今年9月就发布了5.5 beta的新版VMware Workstation同时支持AMD的Athlon 64处理器和Intel的EMT64处理器，支持Windows和Linux操作平台(32位和64位)。Solaris x86处理器和FreeBSD操作系统也得到了支持，不过是试验性的。
  
VMware Workstation 5.5可以将Symantec LiveState Recovery制作的镜像转换入虚拟机，也可以直接打开。它还可以无缝运行微软VPC and Virtual Server。之前的版本只能转换格式，这次则是直接提供支持。另外，增强的命令行界面可以使重复性操作更为简单。
